Being that it is Halloween weekend, I figure I would change things up a bit and play something a bit more on the scary end of things. I searched through my steam library for games I have yet to play and realized I have not played Dead Space yet.
For full disclosure, I did see playthroughs of the game in the past, but I can’t remember where every jump scare is. All I can say is I think I have been corrupted by my years of horror movie watching and thus I was able to predict where a lot of them were going to occur anyway. Sorry, my reactions are not as stellar as say other lets players. If you are looking for a scream fest this isn’t going to be it.
Now for the game! Clearly, the first lesson of the game was no one listens to the Engineer and that quickly everyone abandons you to fix everything (just like real life!). I did get stuck twice during the game. Once during the tutorial, because I exited out of the prompt without looking at what buttons I was suppose to hit in order to complete the task. The second time was with clearing the tram. Maybe I am just an idiot, but that wasn’t very clear to me at all what I was suppose to do. It’s most likely I’m an idiot since I seemed to have blown up our only way off the Ishimura.
Now that I am finally migraine free after three days of misery, time to show the demons of the Buring Hells who is boss…and probably die several times well doing so. Today’s mission was to actually get as many of the Season Journey chapters completed. I was able to complete the first two and make a little bit of progress on Chapter 3. Hopefully, now that my gear is improving and I have the first pieces of the Uliana things will go faster. At the very least I can say I am very entertained by the fact I can now make things explode.
A day late, but here is the Pokemon Go update for this week! Managed to catch quite a few new things this week and my top Pokemon actually shifted around quite a bit due to Evolvefest the other day.
Let’s start out with some very nice hatches this week.
I was very surprised to get a Snorlax from an egg. I honestly think it was Pokemon Go way of mocking me for not running this weekend. Now on to my only catch of the week.
Last but not least here is the updated top Pokemon.
Levels keep coming fast as Qwerty makes her way to level 70. For some reason, it seems like she is leveling much quicker than my Witch Doctor last season. It could be just due to Witch Doctors are harder to level early on or maybe Monks are just better like that. Same old rifts, so nothing to call home about. Getting Marque Gems now and Goblins are showing up pretty regularly which is nice considering I’m still broke.
I ended up growing a bit impatient trying to get to 70 and ended up trying to do Expert. It seems that was a bad idea since the RNG decided that it would be a wonderful idea to start stacking Unique packs right on top of each other after hearing me complain about the lack of Unique packs. Due to this reason I ended up going b ack to Hard for the rest of the time.
I did finally hit level 70 which means now the real game begins! Now the important question is what build to go with.
After getting yet another warning that I was out of Pokemon storage I decided that it was time to do some storage cleaning and use my last Lucky Egg. This of course means I need to start evolving lots of things in order to get the most experience I can out of my 30 minutes. I already had a bunch of Pidgeys and Weedles ready to go, but I also had some Pokemon I was waiting to evolve just for this reason. I figure I would go ahead and share them. They are in no particular order.
(As an FYI, it’s CP is 1026)
After all of this evolving, I did manage to finally hit level 24. Let the party commence! No new Lucky Egg though. :(
I am continuing my quest to get to 70 as a Monk in Season 8! With the beginning of every season, there is always the same problem. Not enough Gold. Even getting enough money to remove your gems from your equipment becomes a challenge till you can start running higher level stuff.
To my surprise, I was getting a lot of goblin packs and I was thinking “Wow I should be able to get quite a bit of gold!”. Sadly for me, none of them were the yellow goblins which drop more gold and I still found myself broke as I was before.
Though the boredom that comes with running normal rifts over and over again was broken with something I haven’t seen in a while. A cow rift! This is I think only the second time I have ever seen this rift and it was a welcome break to the monotony of the same rifts over and over again.
Though I didn’t get a Staff of Herding at the end of the rift, I did get something called a Man Prodder which is a unique Polearm transmog. I think it was a nice touch considering how rare the rift is. After that, it was same old same old rifts and I ended at 58. Only 12 levels to go until the real game starts!
At the end of the evening though I was a bit surprised to find Qwerty looking much better than when she did yesterday since usually the higher the level the crazier they look. No need to call the fashion police today.
After a week off of Diablo 3, Season 8 has begun and with that a new character gets to take on run to do as high of Grifts as possible. This time I decided to go with a Monk, but the hardest question was which Monk? You see I have 3 Monks and each have names I love. So it was a really hard choice to pick between the three.
In the end I decided to go with my Monk that actually means quite a bit to me, Qwerty. You see Qwerty was named after my first cat I had bought with my own money and had total responsibility for. Sadly she passed away at the age of 6 this past July from what was likely cancer. She now lives on in Diablo as a Monk which really represents her attitude and character.
I made quite a bit of progress in the first hour, but with a lot of dying due to I set the difficulty too high and ended up having to lower it. I found my first legendary of the season at level 9 and managed to make it to level 19 by the time I needed to take a break.
Now that I set the difficulty down to Hard and getting some better equipment under my belt things are going much smoother. At this point in the game, I think it is better to just get rifts done quickly than try to push the difficulty for only a small gain in experience. More legendaries are dropping which is always nice and with some nice speed skills it is making it easier to just avoid trash and go right for the uniques. Still a long way to go, but progress is progress!
At the end, as always I decided to take a screenshot of my character’s current look. I think someone needs to call the fashion police cause it is already looking pretty crazy.
As a reminder, I was playing in order to support Extra Live which is a charity to support Children’s Hospitals! Please Donate to Extra Live here: http://www.extra-life.org/participant/randomkat
I haven’t done a Summoners Wars update in awhile so here the interesting things that have occurred since I hit level 50.
World’s worst Legendary Scroll Summon.
Got my Sky Tribe Totem to level 10! Took forever, but well worth it for that sweet +15% Speed.
Last but not least I six starred Verdehile. I decided to go ahead and six star him due to I need him for raids and he is just an overall great monster.
A bit late this morning, but here is my weekly Pokemon Go Update. This week they released the new patch for Pokemon Go which included catch bonuses. Due to there not being much of a variety of Pokemon where I live this is probably going to be hard. I am still proud of my badges.
Catches of the week include a very angry Pidgey found on my desk after my lunch walk.
Last two hours of the Season 7 and I am on a mission to complete 1 conquest and complete the Destroyer Chapter. Probably shouldn't have waited until the last minute, but hey I got a day job. I decided to do lower rifts than what I was doing to make sure I could complete them, but at the cost of a lower upgrade chance for my gems. By the end of the hour, I manage by the to get one Gem up to 65 and two to 60.
We are in the home stretch with one hour to go until the end of Season 7. On a mission to complete 1 conquest and complete the Destroyer Chapter before it ends. At the start, my gems were two at 60 and one at 65. Will I make it or will I fail at my mission?
Season 7 is now over and now it is time to review the build I was using and give Raidan a nice long vacation. I really rather enjoyed the build I was using, but it did have its flaws.
One of the biggest I have complained about quite a bit is the inability to open doors when I wanted to. This is due to the cool down on my skills was too long and I had no quick skills to just break open doors. This maybe due to I was playing Solo, but the build did say it was suitable for solo. Which it was, but it would have been nice to not have to wait to open doors sometimes.
Positives of the build was it is very easy to use. It is not one of those builds where you have to time skill just right and pay extreme attention. So, it is really one of those builds you can just zone out and play. However, you do have to make sure your Gargantuans are doing what they should be doing and not off killing some trash mob. Rift Guardians are not that bad at all and you can even hide behind walls and just let your pets do all the work for you. I think this is one of the reasons it makes a really good higher Grift build due to you don't have to tank the Rift Guardian.
Again very nice build and would recommend it for anyone wanting to play a Witch Doctor for the first time.

Again we are back with Grifting and this time I managed to finally push through Grift 70...and then promptly fail Grift 71 and 69. It seems the RNG was not in my favor for grifts this evening. It is probably the way the game tells people to stop playing and just wait for next season. However, progress is progress and with two days to go to complete Destroyer (not Slayer!).
We are now in the last few days of the season which means any final things I wanted to get done need to get done! This time, I focused on leveling my gems up from 49 to 57. I still want to really get at least one conquest done before the season ends, even if I do not complete the Slayer chapter.
As I continue my journey through space I needed to fix the rest of my ship up since it would be pretty hard to be flying around with a half broken ship. I was able to repair pretty much everything except a coolant system and the warp drive. I guess both can wait until another time.
I did find another ship, but it was worse than what I currently have and I really like having as much storage space as possible. I am quickly learning the Vy'Keen language too! Still not fluent enough though to do their word puzzles.
More Grifting and continuing my quest towards the conquest for solo grifting. Not much happened really of notice, but I did fail Grift 70 due to I got a really bad rift spawn. RNG let me count the ways that you hate me so. From bad item drops to making sure my follower does all that is possible to get me killed you always show such disdain for me.
I am hoping my next Diablo 3 video will be more interesting due to I hope to complete Grift 70 and get my gems to level 50.
In honor of getting my flu shot today, I decided to play some Plague Inc. Of course, I played as a virus naming each virus I played as after one of the viruses in the current flu vaccine this year.
Please remember to get your flu shot this year if you are in the United States so we don’t end up like we do in this game and if not for that reason do it to keep others from getting sick.
For more information on the flu shot or where to get one see the CDC helpful page here: http://www.cdc.gov/flu/
After having technical difficulties yesterday with my sound I was able to finally get a good stream today. Sadly with the lack of sound yesterday made for a painfully boring stream so I will spare the internet from that horror.
Yesterday, I did manage to finally complete a set dungeon using the Arachyr Set. It was much easier than the Helltooth and I would highly recommend anyone needing the set dungeon requirement to go for that set. This allowed me to complete the Champion Chapter and move on to Slayer.
I mainly focused on trying to do T12 rift in 6 minutes or less, but I didn’t manage to accomplish this due to poor rift spawns. I also replayed Grift 66 since that was my other major achievement from my silent stream. Beat my time too. Finished off by killing both Adria and Diablo on T13 to finish up more parts of the Slayer Chapter.
Not much has happened this week in terms of Pokemon Go. No leveling and no interesting Pokemon to report. However, I will say Magikarp will have fins of steel by the time I get enough candies for him to turn into a Gyarados.
I attempted to do the Helltooth Set Dungeon and failed horribly. I really wish Blizzard would redo these so they are actually doable or move them up higher in the seasonal journey. They are extremely frustrating, annoying and not fun to do the way they are currently set up.
I gave up on the set dungeon and decided to do Grifts instead. Managed to complete 64 and 65 this time around!
