It turns out I am indeed an idiot when it comes to fixing things. I was unable to figure out how to fix the space ship I found due to it wasn’t obvious to me that I had to hit the “Accept” button at the bottom of the screen to actually change ships.
Instead I decided to go out and work on getting a Hyper Drive to you know do more space stuff. Turns out there are now even more creatures out to kill me on this planet. In addition to the headcrabs, I now have praying mantises, and what look like mountain goats now after my head…yay…
However, I may put my journey back into space on the back burner now that I know how to fix and repair ships now. Guess I got to now find that ship again…without a map. Something tells me this may take awhile.
I decided that I wanted to try and get myself a new ship. However, every ship I came a crossed cost way too much and I quickly scrapped that idea after nearly getting killed by headcrabs. Well I was running around trying to find a cheaper ship, I was making a lot of headway with this Alien race called the Korvax and they actually started liking me. I was picking up quite a few words from their language and I decided why not try to help them out some.
The first thing I did was I decided to try and find some Platinum for this one guy, but I ended up finding a weird device which showed a Monolith on the map. Figured, hey this can’t be that bad! Let’s check it out! Turns out it was a good thing and I got more favor with their race and learned more words.
I found the Platinum I needed, but I ran into another problem. I couldn’t find my way back to the base I was at in order to give the guy the stuff. I did end up finding a few more waypoints and another one of these weird devices that this time showed my a location of a crashed ship. I once again set out, this time figuring I would be helping some Korvax guy fix his ship and get some more props from their race.
Well to my surprise the poor pilot was dead and left his pretty broken down ship behind. Which to my delight, I can fix. Looks like I found my new ride.
Due to I am hitting the grinding phase of Diablo 3 I figure it would be best to only stream the interesting stuff and do the boring stuff offline. Depending on how boring it is I may not even blog about it, but I shall play it by ear. So, I will be streaming Diablo 3 less, but I plan on saving all legendaries, blood shards and death breaths for the stream. I will stream once I hit a full stash tab of legendaries or I hit my blood shard cap. I will be starting each stream with a legendary item reveal, blood shard gambling and cubing. Those out there who can’t get enough gambling make sure to check out my stream as soon as it starts.
This time, I actually had a viewer pop into the stream which was a nice change from just talking to myself. I was able to complete Grift 45 (Torment 10) barely, which I think is a pretty nice accomplishment. I only recorded paragon levels 155 - 180, but I did some farming before hand to get some more legendaries and blood shards for the stream. I am able to do T8 pretty well now.
In addition, well I was farming I came a crossed one of those special treasure goblins that drop pets. I think my new pet suits my Witch Doctor very nicely.
This week I actually had quite a shift in my top Pokemon. I ended up with quite a few higher level common Pokemon that I decided I would just evolve to get some higher CP Pokemon. I did get another Flareon as well who even beat out my Vaporeon in CP.
I was able to do quite a bit of leveling up as well due to I walked every day to work this week. This allowed me wrack up the stardust and get the one badge I really am looking forward to getting gold.
For those of us in the United States, 100 kilometers is 62.1371 miles and yes I did walk all of it. Goes to show that gaming is a wonderful way to encourage exercise.
After last failure of crashing my space ship so badly it killed both the game and my recording software, I decided to switch recording formats in order to try and make sure the recording is preserved when something like that occurs. This time, I didn’t have to worry about it since I was finally able to land on my first new planet without everything crashing (including my ship). What was even better was the planet wasn’t a complete death trap. Sure the local headcrab like things were not too happy for me landing on top of them, but I could actually run around without fear of dying.
I ended up spending most of the time just flying from point A to point B due to I was trying to pay attention to what the game was leading me to. In this case, it was leading me to my first sentient Alien lifeforms which I could interact with. I was actually pretty happy about this since my inventory space was running pretty low and I needed to sell stuff. I even was able to buy a nicer multi-tool from them.
I decided to not stream Diablo 3 today since I figure it was better to spend my time farming which is kind of boring to watch and also try to commentate on. However, I made sure to save all the blood shards, death breath, and legendaries for the stream. Sadly, the legendaries are not anything to party about, but hey that is the RNG making sure I work for everything I get.
On my way home from work today I finally hit level 22 in Pokemon Go. Considering how long it is starting to take me to level up it is worth a celebration.
So after some reading about the game, I figured it would be best to leave my starting planet behind and try to find a better planet to explore. However, in order to do so, I needed to collect the material in order to repair my ship. This turned out to be easier said than done. I nearly froze to death on a few occasions, then got murdered by Sentinels again for accidently trying to break into their what I think was a base trying to seek shelter from freezing to death, and then had to run away from a giant “gentle” bird T-Rex thing due to I accidently shot it.
Eventually, I did get the material I was looking for and was able to fix my ship and take off the planet. I decided to go for the first plant I could see and attempted to land. Then my game crashed and then OBS crashed taking the original recording with it. Sadly the video is of poor quality due to its an export from Twitch, but it is all I have of the adventure of trying to get off my home planet.
Myraim was finally nice enough to give me a socket for once after who knows how many tries. I was able to complete Chapter IV of the seasonal journey (Yay for Demonic looking Pony!) and I reached paragon 100 in the process. I didn’t record paragon levels 93-99 since it was going to be pretty boring watching me slowly do rifts, but I did save the one legendary I got and the blood shards for the stream.
Now that I have the entire Helltooth set things are going much better and faster. I was able to start doing Great Rifts at about T7 Level with little difficulty. This allowed me to get some more key pieces of equipment I need for my build I am doing.
However, this isn’t the best news. The best news is my Witch Doctor is now actually looking like a Witch Doctor again and not like a 5 year old dressed her.
I was able to get out and do some farming this weekend. Still not much has changed. Pinsirs still are dominating my top list, but I did find a pretty powerful Zubat which I evolved into a nice Golbat. Though I really need to do some Pokemon inventory clean up. It takes me forever to get through the Pidgeys and Weedles. Why can’t I have this problem with Poliwags?
I decided to change things up a bit and try a new game that has been hitting the news quite a bit. No Man’s Sky, a survival style game with a Sci-Fi theme. I decided to avoid looking up any information on the game to avoid spoilers and to not cheat at learning curve of the game. I heard the learning curve on this game is a bit hard since there really isn’t a tutorial and you really just dive right into the game. I am also really bad with survival games in general so any help I could find may not help prevent me from dying over and over again.
Now that I have played it I can say it is not too bad, but I also didn’t know what I was doing for most of the time I was playing. I am still left wondering why I had robots that I initially thought were peaceful start attacking me and sending everything but a death ray to come kill me (which they did). Overall I’m more annoyed with my starting world due to I am constantly having to run back to my ship to prevent myself from freezing to death. Hopefully, as I progress this will become less of an issue and I really really hope there is a way to get more inventory space.
Finally, after spending days working through computer issues on my spare machine (RIP MacBook battery) I was able to finally do a stream of Diablo 3. Still, Myriam is refusing to give me a socket and now Kadala has joined her in a pact with the RNG to make my life as difficult as possible. Sadly rifts are going super slow for me due to I am not doing enough damage.
No new gear this time as well. So no need to post an image of my Witch Doctor’s current state. Feel free to check the previous post if you want to see how horrible the yellow clashes with the Helltooth set.
This evening I decided to play Diablo 3 again without streaming since my friend wanted to help me out some more. I am almost done with Chapter IV of the seasonal journey, but for one thing. Getting a socket in a weapon. However, after running out of gold and all of my forgotten souls I wasn’t able to get one. I’m pretty sure Myriam has had a talk with the RNG and is now making sure I don’t get anything easy. Even just getting a socket in a weapon.
I was able to complete a Greater Rift 20 with ease and I also got the bracers I needed for the build I am planning on doing thanks to Kadala for once. I made it from Paragon 63 - 86 as well.
On the appearance front…still not looking the greatest. The yellow really clashes with the rest of the Helltooth Set.
Though this is a game I will most likely not blog too much about since I am pretty much at end game and there is little for me to achieve at this stage in the game without a lot of work. I have been playing this game for well over a year now and it is a nice time waster.
I am starting to focus more on ruining my monsters, so I can get through the Trial of Ascension. However, being the best really hasn’t been a number one priority in the game for me since I started playing. I have always been more of a collector in these kinds of games than having the best monsters. My monsters still cannot clean the Hall of Heros no matter what above B1 which is making this HoH a bit hard this time since I didn’t have time this weekend to grind it. Oh well, didn’t need that Wind Horus anyway since I already have one.
However, I finally am one level away from maxing Sky Tribe Totem. Sweet sweet 15% Speed Bonus here I come.
With the help of a friend, I was able to make some serious gains. Didn’t stream this evening, but I managed to make it from Paragon 7 to 63 with most of Chapter 4 of the Seasonal Journey done. Also, I am able to do T4 pretty slowly, but at least I’m managing it now. Hopefully, once I get the rest of the Helltooth set things will progress much quicker, my character will start looking better and the next time I stream it will be more interesting.
Though the RNG tried as it might I finally made it to 70 today and actually to Paragon 7! Hopefully things will be more interesting from here on out with my Diablo videos now that the hard part is over with.
Last but not least it happened. My character looks completely ridiculous, but hey it is the price to get to 70.
This evening playing Diablo 3 I ran into my old frenemy the RNG. This time, it decided to throw me unique packs with some of my most despised combos of abilities. Waller, Frost, Vortex, and of course the Magical Not Healing Beams also known by normal people as Arcane Beams. I call them that due to a friend of mine starting using the term Magical Healing Beams when he wore the amulet which turns arcane damage to into healing instead. Since I do not have that amulet yet they are much less amusing. Anyway really close to making it to 70 and finished off at level 66. I’m sure the RNG has a lot of pain and suffering in store for me when I start gear farming.
Also as predicted in my previous post. My character coordination in clothing is progressing towards “I don’t care what I look like I’m slaying demons for God’s sake!”. Though she looks like she is ready for the 4th of July a bit over a month late.
Continuing my quest to get to 70 solo I decided to continue doing bounties so I can get cache materials for later. Though in this process I had issues with getting frozen right and left it was still a lot of fun as normal. Finished at level 58 and finished the first chapter of the Seasonal Journey.
As per usually my character still so far doesn’t look all the bad in terms of color coordination. I’m sure that is about to change pretty soon.
I know I post quite a bit about Pokemon Go, but since I started playing I have been posting my top Pokemon on Twitter once a week to track my progress in the game. I figure since I started this blog I might as well post it here as well.
It seems this week Pinsirs took over my top Pokemon list.
Got some more time last night to try streaming Diablo 3. Sadly the first 10 minutes of it I didn’t realize I was having the black screen just showing and I had to reset. So, my progression to level 29 is lost to the hard drive. Finished at level 47 even though my cat tried to get me killed during the stream.
I did plan on trying to continue to play, but I was having some weird issues with either Twitch or my Internet. Twitch wouldn’t load, but other things would. It was extremely odd.
I was able to get the Cain set so leveling should be a bit easier. Yet again my Witch Doctor is remaining color coordinated.
Today during my workout I decided to play Pokemon Go during it. 10km, 4 Eggs, and who knows how many Pokemon later I reached home. It seems the RNG from Diablo has now found its way into Pokemon Go since one of the eggs I hatched was a 10k. What did I get?
A Pinsir. I guess I should count my blessings that it was at least a higher CP than the first one I caught. However, it seems they have invaded an area near me so they are super easy to catch and it may not be too long before this one is out CPed. Of the other eggs, 2 Magikarps and 1 Meowth. A Pinsir. Oh well, slowly but surely I will get a Persian and Gyarados.
Yesterday Season 7 started in Diablo 3 and of course, I had to play it. I decided to run a Witch Doctor this season since I haven’t played one seriously in a while and there are some builds I wanted to try out. My character Raidan is the lucky Doc who got to go this time.
I decided to try out an experiment with streaming my experience this time, but I think I didn’t have the stream 100% set up right and it was lagging quite a bit on Twitch. So I may have to adjust some settings to see if I can improve the experience and maybe get some viewers. I know in the video I said I had one viewer, but now that I look back on that I think that may have just been me. Give me a break total streaming n00b here.
I did upload the videos of my stream to YouTube this morning in order to share my awkward experience with the world.
First Hour of Playing!
Second Hour of Playing!
So far I think Raidan is looking more color Coordinated than my Demon Hunter was last season at this stage in the game. I’m sure that probably won’t last much longer.
Just as an introductory first post, this is my first time doing a gaming blog. I plan to share my gaming experiences with you as I experiment with this new platform. Bang or bust let the games begin!
