Eventually, we locate Mr. Midnight up in the attic locked in a cage. Poor guy, we have to get him out. Sadly he is being held hostage along with us by two conjoined twin girls who are not very nice. They say we have to obey them cause they are older and if I don’t do what they say they will make me kill Mr. Midnight myself. So, I’m stuck doing what they say.
They want me to complete a ritual that will separate them again. I’m kind of sensing they were conjoined for a reason, probably to teach them a lesson about getting along or something. I go about starting to collect the supplies I need to make the ritual.
When I return to the kitchen a skeleton man is in the window and opens it for me. He seems to be trying to help me out and I hop out the window. I find a toad there who is also trapped by the twins and he tells us to not complete the ritual they wanted due to it will get me killed. He instead hands me another ritual which will free us from this place.
Since I trust the toad more than those evil girls I decide to make his recipe instead (not that I think I have a choice in the matter). I complete that recipe and ritual which destroys the twin girls and gives me a key.
Sadly this is not the key for Mr. Midnight’s cage but it is instead the key to the MIRROR. I spent so long trying to find this “lock” since it was well hidden in the environment. This lead to a sliding puzzle which gives us a key and a bit more back story about the twins. It turns out they were conjoined because they wanted to kill their mother and they both hated each other. I guess serves them right.
I unlock Mr. Midnight’s cage and we are finally reunited! Too bad we are stuck on this island. Well good thing giving baking soda to a toad make it grow bigger and we can ride it across the water.
